STUNNING black and white photos have revealed how children used to spend their summer holidays before Fortnite took over.

The incredible set of pictures shows youngsters playing football on the streets and going on bike rides.

Others battle each other for real using makeshift swords and shields instead of fighting behind a computer screen.

The photos – released by Getty – have been taken across the world to show how kids used to spend their holidays.

Some date back as far as 1931 while others were taken during the Second World War when soldiers joined in with their games.
